That definition of "Maximalism" was pure word-salad.

My friend's father purchased a house in DC suburban area for $250 K in 1978 which he sold for $2.5 million in 2016. 10 times gain sounds like a nice gain. Had he invested in S&P 500, it would have been close to $6 million. With dividend reinvestment, it would have been $16.5 million.

You guys may not like it, but this just may be the future! Future generations aren't going to care. But hopefully in time they will learn that spending 3k to fix electrical that will last decades would have been worth more than spending $1550 on lights (that will most likely need replaced in a couple years) you have to recharge every week so you can see.

nvested $100k with Open Door Capital in 2023 the Texas Three Pack. The first year return was $0 because apparently with real estate syndications it takes a year to settle things out before they get any dividends out? Then in May of 2024 got my first distributions I got $290. So basically I got 2.9% return and lost a whole year’s worth of interest. I could have put money in my Fidelity High Yield Savings at 5.15% gotten $5100 in the first year and a $135 extra a month. My money is now tied up for 5-10 yrs plus. At this point I’ll be lucky to even get back my original investment. Needless to say this was a Big Giant mistake. Expensive lesson to learn that we should never trust anyone on the internet marketing you something, it is never in your best interest. None the less I no longer follow Brandon or Bigger Pockets, or any “educational resource” it’s all becoming a vail for marketing.

Take out a 100k and put it on 3-4 property? 👀
